Cause
Access to veterinary care is the number one animal welfare issue facing companion animals in BC. More animals suffer because of a lack of veterinary care than they do from intentional cruelty or neglect.
That’s why Paws for Hope treats pets as important members of the family and has made our main priority to keep families together. Shelters should only be for homeless pets, not for pets whose people face barriers to employment, housing and/or treatment. No one should have to give up their beloved pet if they are sick or need veterinary care. And no one should have to give up their pet because they are experiencing a crisis.
Paws for Hope is committed to supporting people and their pets—ensuring that the family, as a whole, can access the services and supports they need to be happy, healthy, and safe.
